I did not think I could save RM500.00 this month. I made a pledge to myself that I would save RM500.00 per month in order to save up for my airfare to take up a writing scholarship in a far away land. But I sold about 10 books yesterday in church and that made me RM400.00 plus the love gift makes up just over RM500.00.
The love gift from the wedding I conducted was more than enough to cover travel costs and one night hotel in Tenom. It is now the fourth day since I left Kota Kinabalu and I am still away from KK. Previously if I had to attend an outstation case in Keningau or Sandakan I could easily charge RM5,000 for my fees with expenses fully paid. It means I made less than 10% from my former job and who is adequate for all these?I am glad a copy each of my Departure Points and Anak Panah were sold. I did not even mention the latter in my introduction of my five titles that I brought with me. So I press on in the Lord’s service.
Praise God for the response of His Word yesterday. Anointed preaching is key to church health and growth. I felt a spiritual lethargy all round and even in Kapulu I was disappointed how few of the local villagers came to attend church during the wedding. The guests from KK were probably tripled those of the local church members. Apparently the church pastor left a few years ago and the flock has been without a shepherd for too long and now they are in a deep spiritual decline.
