After talking with my senior leaders, it appears that it is going to take a while for them to find me something to do, so in the meantime I will occupy myself with writing. Yesterday I rested from the hectic two full days and two nights’ Pastors’ Conference and I have been praying since I completed my John’s Gospel’s commentary in mid-May about which book should I commentate on next. I think I found the answer but when I start writing, I will announce it here.
Today I read parts of 7 or 8 books, mostly on Paul the apostle. On my shelves I have more than 10 books on Paul, and his theology, not counting specific commentaries on Pauline epistles. I have many. Some years back I told myself, I have more than enough books to read for 20 years in my retirement. As a disciple of Christ, I will keep following Him wherever He goes and I am pretty sure I shall based in my hometown and enjoy my humble abode as long as I can.
I have heard enough excuses. At least 10 pastors expressed their wish that I returned to my former College in Namaus, Ranau. At least one who is close to me, I told him why don’t you appeal on my behalf? In fact 4 years ago, one District’s leaders (all three of them) came one day earlier to a meeting in order to meet me and told me they were prepared to appeal to my senior leaders on my behalf.
I told them, if they are truly leaders, they should know my calling and giftings, and should not need other people to tell them what to do. I even joked with one coordinator during the Conference that it was time for him to repay his “guru” (teacher) by helping him to find a placement or appointment. So I wait on the Lord. And my waiting will not in vain because in a week or two, after some more reading I will settle on a new book project and once I start, I will finish it by God’s will.
