My latest conquest was my latest visit to Alutok which took me about five hours of driving one way. I went there 29 years ago and all the leaders and two Masters of ceremony on Saturday and Sunday made much of the fact that I had returned for a second time. It was the ends of the earth as far as the land below the wind is concerned. But God watched over me and blessed my ministry.
Two fine days not a drop of rain and we tranversed on the way to the village damaged by landslide. A downpour of an hour would easily cause another landslide blocking the way. The church must have prayed and when I reached my village home in Tambunan just before 7pm last night, it began rain at midnight as if the Lord saying to me that He had kept the rain from Alutok or a large part of Sabah for Jesus’ sake as I preached two messages of God’s Word. Saturday I preached for 37 minutes as the meeting started at 8pm and I ascended the pulpit at 10pm.Yesterday was about the same with 9.15am start and I preached from 10.55am for 47 minutes, two minutes longer than I wanted. The younger generation needs a fresh encounter with the living God so that it is not just their parents’ faith or their grandfathers’ faith but a true and living faith from their own hearts and volition. So I came, I saw but I had not conquered. I will pray for the next few months for this village ans three surrounding villages that assembled for two services..
