Visions & Earthquake

I was tossing in my mind on Sunday whether to share what I believed to be from the Lord, the visions I saw on Saturday evening and Sunday morning, 21st-22nd Feb 2026, my last two days as pastor of my former church. I saw angels on the West Coast of Sabah, with banners on Saturday during the worship rehearsal and on Sunday during worship I saw the three angels planting the banners on Kota Belud, Kota Marudu and Pitas.

I perceived it in my spirit these three towns, but when I asked the Lord what was the meaning of it all, there was no reply. Then, Monday morning on 23rd Feb, I saw the news of the 7.1 earthquake that struck the West Coast of Sabah, some 55kms from Kota Belud according to the reports. A number of world news reported the earthquake happening just of Sabah or the island of Borneo. 

I explained to the church that the angels planting the banners was a sign of God's protection over the land and it was a sign for us, Christians not to be complacent but to watch and pray more in light of the End-time. During that weekend, 20th-22nd Feb 2026, floods hit Kota Marudu and Pitas hard, with a few thousand people displaced and moved to temporary shelters. 

A family who came to visit us on the 2nd day of the Lunar New Year went back to Pitas, the wife's home village and they were stuck for 6 days before they could return to Kota Kinabalu. I also said Sabah after the 2015's earthquake in Ranau that killed 12 Singaporeans, mostly Primary 6 students and now this most recent earthquake, that we can no longer say earthquakes do not happen or even rare as it can hit us anytime and it is a wake up call. 

Further, in my last weekend as pastor, the church's chairman's village had a big fire with 10 houses in the village burnt down and four damaged, altogether 14 houses. And also on the 3rd day of CNY, a 2nd floor shoplifts just two units from our church was burnt with fire affecting the church next door of another denomination. 

I do not think all these things happened as a coincidence. Twice, as I read Scripture, earthquake and fire happening close to one another is sign of God's wrath (Psalm 18:7-8) when David called out for help and God rescued him from his deadly enemies by an earthquake and fire. Likewise, the passage I preached in July 2025 on our visit to the Tuaran church that made a return visit last Sunday, the passage from Hebrews 12 says that God will shake the earth and the heavens and that He is a consuming fire.
