Christmas in Keningau

After preaching twice on 24th Dec night and 25th morning I slept for 2 hours from 2.30-4.30pm. Then we had dinner in a nice restaurant at 6.30pm and the portions were so big that we had do take away for one dish. But 10.30pm I fell asleep again. Later today I will drive back to Tambunan, my wife’s village. If I don’t attend a relative’s wedding, then I will return to Kota Kinabalu on Friday to prepare for my Sunday sermon.

This morning I managed to watch a Chinese show about a doctor who had to change his clothes while half asleep but when he was told “surgery”, subconsciously he was ready to go to his work. I thought to myself, if you say, “Tony it is time to preach” I would rise from my slumber or from whatever state that I might be in and be ready for the sermon.

Preaching has been my life work and it has brought much blessing to many people. Especially one with no support and no official human appointment, I had to rely solely on God’s power to make Jesus known and I saw many happy faces at both sessions. It is the work and power of the Holy Spirit.

All my 20 books on 5 titles were sold out plus 7 copies of Anak Panah is a testament that both leaders and church members hungered for God’s Word. A couple of people asked me to autograph the books and I wished I had brought more books to the church. About 15 people sent me Christmas greetings and I replied with the photo I took with my wife on Christmas’ Eve.
