Meaningful & Impactful

The first I can attest to because what I am doing is meaningful, at least to me. Whether it is significant and impactful I leave it to God to judge. Some of my friends without them saying aloud wonder why I am stuck with one community, a lowly and poor segment of the society but that’s where I believe God wants me to be and I am not sure how long it will last, this pastorate, the relationship between the pastor and his flock. In the book of Zechariah the bond between the shepherd and the flock could be broken, and I experienced that when my former church insisted on the requirement of vaccination. Even a member of Parliament I spoke to recently told me that if he had a choice he would not have been vaccinated. And he also acknowledged that some of his friends had serious side effects.

And the irony is that most vaccinated people got Covid more than once and I was delivered from it all throughout those two plus years (March 2020-May 2022). Even if 999 out of 1,000 people are safe but as Christians we need to care for that one soul that might suffer ill consequences and we should not impose our faith on him when he is not ready on things inconsequential and inessential to our faith and salvation. That’s why the gospel proclaims the liberty of Christ (Galatian 2) and anything that goes against our freedom in Christ should be viewed with extreme caution. We should rely on God’s grace and His commands and not man’s regulations.

So what am I doing now? I feel I am still on a mission. To find a habitation for our Lord through proper worship and the preaching of His WORD. I can easily spend 30 hours of one message going through the Scripture, weighing in my mind what and how I am going to say, praying and waiting on the Lord. It is most meaningful to speak God’s word, the only thing that could change people’s lives for the better if they listen and accept it by faith. It is not the hearers but doers of the WORD who are blessed. I find it most meaningful to lead worship, not that I am a song leader but I give direction like King David on how worship is done, to make sure those who lead the service do their best by the Holy Spirit as a service unto the Lord.
