Three Times in a Week

It is not often I spoke three times within a week. I spoke at the Cell Group for about 30 minutes, then one whole hour on Saturday evening with about 10 Worship leaders of our church and yesterday I preached for 39 minutes on 1 Corinthians 3:1-9, coming from preaching twice the week before in Sandakan. All three messages made a certain impact on the hearers and the best was the message I spoke to about 20 leaders gathered in our fellowship hall on the 2nd floor. I spoke about worship leaders leading the congregation to drink from the one Spirit (1 Cor 12:13).

I shared about Jesus' conversation with the Samaritan woman at the well and that she should ask Him for a drink and He would have given her to drink the living water that will become a spring in the heart of a believer. He who drinks from the living water will never thirst. I exhorted the worship leaders to drink from same fountain of life of the Spirit in their daily walk so that when it is their turn to lead worship rivers of living water will flow out of their ministry and touch many lives.

I only turn to 1 Corinthians 11 about men not covering their heads and with open face worship the Lord who is the Spirit (2 Cor 3:18). In the Sunday service, I tried by the sermon to teach about church unity from Paul's exhortation to the Corinthians who were after 6 or 7 years in Christ were still in the flesh or fleshly Christians whom Paul called babes in Christ (1 Cor 3:2). Those who are the flesh cause division and are jealous of others.

Jealousy, envy and dissension can cause havoc in church, and weaken many people. I told the leaders and church members alike, in their daily conversation, whether in public or social media or communication apps to be careful in what they write and not criticise one another in group chats. If there is a problem or issue with any individual, speak to the person face to face and if he is in the wrong, correct him in love and be courteous at all times to maintain the unity of the body.
