No matter how one is to preach for God is the one who tests our hearts, it is never going to be easy. Not many people like to receive instruction or even mild rebuke because most people are quite complacent and think that they are on the right side of God. No wonder Jesus says "many will come to Me on that day and say, Lord Lord have we not done this or that in Your name, have we not prophesied, have we not cast out demons and do works as if for God's glory but ultimately Jesus will say to them - "Be gone! I never knew you. You workers of iniquity."
Serious words and tough as nut, so my question is that how many churches will welcome Jesus into their midst today? Just as a church in Revelation has Jesus knocking outside the door of the church for people in the church might be happy and doing their own "spiritual" things without realizing that Jesus is no longer in their midst. Today I rebuked the idea of of prayer by facebook or smartphone. I am not really against it provided that when opportunity avails itself we should meet together and pray. But many a time in the past 18 months we have had periods when we were allowed to gather but there was no call to prayers from those in charge. Our local church did meet on Fridays for meetings but I am still amazed that four times over the past year when pastors or leaders could have met together and prayed but alas there was no call to prayer. So when people refused to meet when conditions allowed for it and then when Covid19 cases rose like in the past month, then they hold all kinds of prayers online, facebook prayers, etc, I want no part in hyprocrisy and dead spirituality. Leaders like Peter and John led prayers. Daniel called his three friends and they prayed. King Solomon prayed a long prayer and among other things said that God's people should come to the Temple and pray when plagues come their way. I am still amazed like Jesus' parable shows while the labourers are asleep the devil comes in and steal what remains. No wonder we have not brought salvation to the land because we lack united and fervent prayers. Christians are fewer by the year in Kota Kinabalu while people can play church and pretend all they want but all is empty talk and failed leadership.
