There is no doubt that we have entered into the times of Elijah. A time of spiritual apostasy. A time of apostate spiritual leadership. And suddenly Elijah appeared to rebuke King Ahab. And suddenly he disappeared once more. Elijah could only do that if he really believed that God was on his side and he was the one true prophet when many went backwards. Why do I say that now is the times of Elijah? Imagine for the past two years and three months. How many have gone backwards with wrong theology? How many churches have shut down? And when they reopened late last year, how many have put draconian conditions on church entry?
Unvaccinated not welcome in front of the door and announced week after week in church? Do you reckon God is pleased with such a state? The State of His Church? When I read Jesus' teaching on the End-Time, love will grow cold for many. They have no interests in others other than themselves. Men will be selfish and self-centred. They care less whether you live or die. To them, you are non-existent. But no one can deny Elijah's presence and his ministry. He could hide for months and years and but when he appeared it was in the power of God. His mantle split the river Jordan. His prayers called fire from heaven to consume the sacrifice on the altar while the prophets of Baal cried whole day without response because they serve a dead god, a wooden idol, a figment of their imagination. When I read Acts and Peter's speech about the child of God, Jesus whom God raised from the dead and in Jesus' name, a man was healed wholly and sickness was cast out. But now, even the healthy are cast out and not wanted as they preach a theology of "holier than thou" but God is absent and God will judge. I read Zechariah 10 & 11 this morning after about 7 months. I came upon those two chapters when I resigned early November 2021. God told me He would judge the shepherds and the leaders as they detest God and God likewise detests them. And in God's sovereignty He will raise up righteous leaders, a cornerstone from Judah, a peg in the tent of Judah and those who believe in Him shall not be moved.
