We cannot afford to be blind. Yet there are many blind people, not physically blind but spiritually blind. It is tragic because even many so-called church leaders are blind. They claim to be able to see, but truly they are blind and because they claim not to be blind, Jesus will judge them even more: "Leave them. They are blind guides. The blind leading the blind, and both will fall into the pit." (Matt 15:14). In my first sermon at a former Seminary in KK, I preached the second week of the second Semester. I felt the anointing so strong that even with translation (from English to Mandarin), the sermon was loud and clear and everyone who heard was truly blessed. A foreign lecturer who came up to me: "Tony you are a preacher man!"
It was high compliment, but I gave all glory to God because preaching is indeed one of my main gifts, and it is incredibly effective when the preacher is anointed by the Spirit. But that was the first and last sermon I preached at Chapel of the Seminary, even my turn in April before I left for good in June was cancelled. They did not want to hear anointed preaching again, as it might be just be a little bit too inconvenient that the "anointed" preacher was leaving the College. The word, "anointed" was used by a former colleague when she spoke with me and told her colleague about me when I attended the 60th anniversary of another of my former College in RanauI left the seminary in KK on God's command having the passage from Proverbs 24 LXX speaking to me several times: "Prepare your works for your departure" in the second month I joined the College and before the fourth month was up in October I already tendered my resignation. But too many leaders are blind. I sat in a meeting once, not speaking at all. The Lord laid in my heart two metaphors. One was a person with a black belt with several Dans not wanted or ignored while those with just brown or blue belts held prominent roles and positions. As I left the meeting and returned to my apartment, I saw many star fruits lying on ground, when ripe but unpicked and by nature, these fruits fall to the ground and rot. Talents unused are wasted because of blind leaders. But these leaders have their followers, but the latter are also blind because they allow blind leaders to lead them and both, say Jesus will fall into the pit.
