David Danced before the Lord

I was so joyful at the conclusion of my sermon on Sunday that when the men rose to sing one of favourite Dusun songs, I rose up and danced before the Lord in front of the congregation. That encouraged a number of youths seated in front to join me and I had a great time rejoicing before the Lord. But it went back to Saturday night where I preached for 35 minutes on Jesus being 12 years old in front of two politicians who came to church on my invitation. It was good and an honour to have them present, one of whom was the current Member of Parliament for Ranau where I was based for 4 years (2015-2019).

On Sunday, I preached about Jesus' zeal for God's house from John 2. I exhorted the congregation, altogether 150 adults for the first time in our church history seated in that one small shop lot. 40 plus children were downstairs following Sunday school. At the end of my preaching, I led a song of response "Kau menunggu hidupku" and invited people to come forward to put their requests before God and to be prayed for. I took about 20 minutes to pray for each and every one, 25 men and women and for the first time, about 10 men came forward with about 15 ladies. Many wept as the Spirit of the Lord touched them and they felt their burdens lifted by God's grace poured out.

So when the men sang the Dusun song, I danced publicly before the Lord expressing joy in the Lord and full of thanksgiving with what He had done over two incredible services. In fact it started on Friday night with me leading prayers and guided the two rehearsals making sure they were disciplined with time and we did not want the services to go more than two hours.

The Sunday before when I left early for my mother's wake, the service went on for three hours. The Saturday service lasted 1 hour 50 minutes with several presentations and speeches because my sermon was barely 30 minutes, but on Sunday I preached longer a 45 minutes sermon and the service ended at 11.20am which was early according to our customs as it was a Christmas service with several songs and dances presented by the youths, children and the men that led to me dancing before the Lord. Hallelujah!
