Leaders' Retreat & God's Will

It was by God's grace and His will that the Retreat proceeded as planned. I had prepared for it in the past 2 and a half months, half the time not knowing whether it was going to proceed or not. I will do my best to the last day has been my principle since the entry into full-time ministry, because it is for God and not for men. I am happy that at the end, one participant laid down what was at stake. The church needs a leader if we wanted to fulfil God's plan for the church.

Often times human beings have many considerations and the last thing they think of is doing God's will. No wonder on the last day, Jesus will say to many who think they have done God's will - "depart from Me, you evil doers!" In fact, they are evil doers because they put worldly considerations above the will of the Father in heaven, which means they rebel against His will, even put in front of them, like Jesus the Son of God spoke for three years in front of the Israelites but few would listen to Him.

Now that the Leaders' Retreat is over where I led for six sessions, three solid messages based on the Bible and three more on what the church was supposed to do going forward. Now my focus is on two Christmas messages on Saturday night and Sunday morning. I did not preach for two Sundays but the multi sessions at the Leaders' Retreat took a lot of my energy, coupled with a family bereavement, even today I felt like I was hit by a bus, four days in a row. So today was catching up on sleep and eating properly so I don't lose more weight.

I will just wait on the Lord more, as I love the church. They are indeed sheep who needs a shepherd whether they know it or not, less they become listless and haggard for the lack of a shepherd. On Sunday, we had close to 130 adults and when I conducted the Holy Communion, I had not seen such numbers since the Good Friday and Resurrection Services, and indeed I am the pastor entrusted to shepherd the flock of Jesus Christ for the glory of God.
