It’s now over a month since I left my former church as pastor and now I live by faith. In fact, I have lived by faith since 1989 when I opened my law firm as a young lawyer just barely 25 years old having worked for two law firms for two years; five months in NZ before admitted to the Bar in Christchurch and then about one and a half years in Kota Kinabalu.
I have lived by faith in a living God for nearly 37 years now, embarking on theological study with my own money in 1993 and starting full time ministry in Dec 1994 after completing my BTheol in 2 years, probably the first student to do so in Auckland University and also the first student from Dept of Theology to be offered Uni of Auckland Masters Scholarship for 2 years which I rejected in order to stay in Melangkap at the foot of Mount Kinabalu among the Dusuns of Kedamaian and Taginambur. I have served among the tribal peoples of Borneo for more than 31 years. In the first month out of a “job”, I had been invited thrice to speak which means for the past fortnight my book writing has stopped but will restart when I regain my energy due to intense ministry in the past few days.
If I had not stopped during the Seminar, there were so many questions asked; the first night QnA exceeded one hour and the next day also about 55 minutes before we closed 11.45am already 45mins behind schedule.
There is a cry for clarity for so many things how to interpret the Bible and denomination’s rules which I tried to answer to the best of my ability. I do not what the future might hold; people think I might be appointed to this or that position with the new leadership in place but it is yet to be seen. Some may be genuinely concerned but most do not have one’s interests at heart for they are just busy bodies, gossipers and slanderers in the land.
