I have planned this since I accepted the call to pastor the church in early October. The turnout was encouraging with 33 participants from a 100 member church. That’s 33% which is much higher than the 20% of many churches where those who are actively involved are at most 20 percent of the membership. Moreover it was a public holidays and most of my members will normally take the opportunity to return to their home villages. But the first session was great being fresh as I shared for an hour and 5 minutes after a short 15 min praise and worship to start off the proceedings.
I shared from Psalm 132 about the sufferings and hardships David had to endure to find a place of rest and habitation for the Lord. I told them that now the Lord wants to dwell in His church corporately and in each person individually as our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. I told them that God intends to manifest His glory in the church (Eph 3) and as a pastor I seek to restore God’s house in its full glory, a fit habitation for the Lord through His Spirit.I shared from 1 Chronicles 15 on how David built a tent or tabernacle for the ark of the covenant and in the Ark three items are placed there permanently, the 10 commandments, manna and the rod of Aaron that budded. I spoke much the rod of Aaron as the choice of God in Aaron and his sons to be priests to do the work of the ministry around the Ark housed in a tent. I shared how the Levites bore the Ark which I take as singers and musicians leading praise and worship and be instruments of God so that His presence is manifested.
I was pretty tired by 2pm as the third and last session started on leadership development and I realised my strength for a whole day seminar is not like before. I do not know whether I could do a 5 sessions long seminar on the End-Times in late June. For that I am going to record in 4K video with a good phone recorder so that it could be viewed by others as I plan to upload these teaching sessions on youtube. Tonight I am leading prayers and tomorrow I might attend the rehearsal and I shall be preaching on the book of Daniel this Sunday.
