I do not want to be a hypocrite. In fact, when I say or said something in the Lord, it will come to pass. My earliest pronouncement last January 2025 when I held the first leaders’ retreat to set the vision for 2025 and one of the first was to visit a nearby church, to establish sisterly or brotherly relationship with a fellow SIB church and the very next week I met a church leader at McD (he told me he hardly ever dined at a McD) and the church leader invited me to bring a team from my church to visit them.
It happened as planned last July we had a group of 19 youths and it happened my son was back in KK and he and his wife joined us as well. The response was massive - one person put on Instagram or Threads that “powerful ministry of the Word, pst” and at the end I invited them to make a visit to our church and lo and behold, on the Sunday that I announced my departure, the church contacted the youth leader and they will come visiting next March. As I already resigned by then, I made an exception to attend the church service next month at my “former” church. I do not think the leaders of the Tuaran church knew the latest happenings. With some reflection, it takes a leader to realise God’s vision for the church. It is not just mere talk or chatter and then whatever vision put forward is set aside or forgotten.
I knew my departure was imminent when the chairman did not call a church council meeting for more than three months and even when called, I saw the agenda as “receiving reports from various units of ministry” without reference to the vision set forth December 2025. It’s a shame and I do not want to be a hypocrite. I told about 20 leaders gathered during the retreat in the first session that it was from the head of Aaron that the anointing oil flows. The anointing flows from the top and I have been promised this and that but nothing came out at the end. At least, one vision is seeing the fruition that a sister church will come visiting and that would be my grand farewell, reminding all concerned that without a vision, the people dwell aimlessly.
