New Leadership Elected & installed

Not many people expected the change of leadership during yesterday's election at our 18th AGM. We have a new President. I was standing outside as I did not want to pay the fees charged for observers. I was talking to friends and some delegates who came out after the vote count and suddenly someone whispered in my ears: "We have a new President!"

Only at noon today over lunch, I found out the reaction of the delegates when it was announced by the chairman of our election committee. There was a stunned silence for a few moments followed by a few claps were heard around the hall of 137 delegates present and about 30 observers seated at the first floor balcony.

But after more than 24 hours since the election, I realised the immensity of the moment. For the first time in 19 years, we have a new President. So this morning at church at the close, I led the whole congregation to pray for the newly elected leaders based on Solomon's prayer for wisdom (1 Kings 3).
