Is our destiny fixed? Can we repent and change our destiny? Yes we can but increasingly it is rare. It is as if it is already fixed. Like the 7th month of the biblical calendar called Tishri, therein a tradition that the feast of trumpets (rosh hashanah) begins the call to repentance and getting oneself right with God in that 10-day period as on Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement) it is fixed whether one is forgiven and atoned for or not.
After that it is too late, even four or five days later until the 15th Tishri on the Feast of Tabernacles, people who have not repented on the first 10 days are no longer able to turn to God. It is as if even before end-time comes, the period of repentance is closing and is closed even before the coming of the Lord.No wonder in Revelation it is said, “let the wicked be wicked. The filthy be filthy yet. But the holy be holy still.” It is as if it is already fixed and determined. I weep and lament as I see that around me each day, there is a veneer of spirituality, but only on the surface, if one scratches deeper inside, it is filled of iniquity and wickedness for people do not want to repent. Having drunk the old wine they do not want the new for they say, “the old is better.”
