55 + 61 More Travelling

I told myself that I must stop my long distance travel when I turned 55 years old and thus I returned to Kota Kinabalu after 4 years based in Ranau. I thought I had done enough of travelling, at least 150 times up and down the winding and hilly road of KK-Ranau. But now at 61 years old I am still doing it. Just over a month ago I travelled for 6 hours over two days to reach a village that I visited 29 years ago.

In two weeks’ time I am travelling to the same district about 5 hours’ drive and this time up a hill of 21kms of unsealed and rocky road. After that I travel towards the Sandakan road to Telupid and another village some 20 minutes from Telupid town which is 4 hours’ drive from KK. My cousin asked me last night why I am still doing that and I can’t find an answer.

I guess the answer is for another few years as long as I am healthy to make such journeys and preach at the same time. It will be three sessions early November from Friday night, Saturday morning and night services before retuning to Kota Kinabalu early Sunday morning. I may stop over in Ranau to attend Sunday service before returning to Kota Kinabalu. “Be prepared for the field and come follow behind Me” (LXX Proverbs 24) a verse that I had felt the Lord speaking to me to once more go to the mission field and thus far, as long as health permits, I will do His bidding.
