Middle of Time

As there are no specific commitments for me in recent weeks, sometimes I was caught unaware of time, something rare for me as I have a habit looking at the time, keeping a diary of events far ahead and planning ahead at all times. I have been so occupied with the book that sometimes I did not care when I slept and when I got up. It could be as early 3 am (going to bed early) and by 4am I would be going about writing, checking and editing my book until late morning before going for early lunch or brunch.

I rarely ever miss breakfast, either toast bread or a couple of eggs. Now it is the middle of May and I have nothing planned until the end of July.

I may be making a short trip overseas and I certainly hope that my book will be published by then, God willing. Two months plus with all the free time. Of course in the past fortnight while my proofreader was reading my manuscript I had asked myself whether I wanted to write another book.

Several biblical books come to mind, Romans, Ecclesiastes and the book of Revelation. But knowing the travails that book writing brings - certainly it has taken a toll on my energy and I am not sure whether I want to start writing another one.

All I know I will spend much of my time at home just as Ezekiel when he was commanded to stay at home as hardly any Israelite wanted to listen to him just as they did not want to listen to God.

30 times in John's Gospel, Jesus claimed He was sent by God and even in the prologue (John 1:6), John the Baptist was a man sent by God. God has a habit of sending men whenever the situation demands, to call His people to repentance, but oftentimes as in the times of the prophets or even in the days of Jesus, the vast majority rejected the purposes of God by rejecting those whom He sent.
