Proofreading Theology

I do not know how to repay my sole proofreader as she spent a full two weeks going through every single page of my 200 page manuscript. I thought I might take 2 or 3 days to do the corrections but now I am giving myself another 2 weeks to do so. It is not just spellings or minor mistakes but I need to brush up or strengthen my arguments at several places, especially for a Malay reading audience.

The topic is difficult about Jesus’ relationship to the Father and a number of passages are worthy of a PhD thesis let alone just a few pages of explanation. It will be another 2 weeks of hard work but I am taking it in my strides as I am not rushing for anything and if publication is pushed back by 2 or 3 months it is fine with me.

In fact earlier I thought of a middle of the year target but now I might not get it done until June if I want to rewrite parts of my manuscript. We will see what happens. But staying home is just fine with me with the situation I find myself in, there is nothing much I could do but wait.

At least I will do my best on this second volume of a commentary on John’s Gospel. Malay is my second language and preaching is different as one is not required to use long and perfect sentences to make an impact. But writing is a different kettle of fish as clarity of expression on the Godhead and things divine is needed and any help from my proofreader is much appreciated.
