After a bout with illness, one realises just how close we are to death where every one alive will meet one day. If I am still alive, it is because God still has a duty for me on earth. For He is the Lord over all the earth and He has His purposes for this earth, for every nation, tribe and language. When someone comments that my ministry revolves around kampung folks (village people) I felt a sense of pride, not unworthiness. Who will go and teach these kampung folks? Yes, there are many preachers and itinerants as well, but not many have the knowledge that God has given me. It is enriching for all concerned at least for someone with my background preaching to the village folks.
They must sense God loves them. He does not send just anyone but He sends me to them, to tell them what to do and show them His love through the preaching of His word. Am I satisfied with what I am doing? I am having a feast. He who drinks from Christ and the Spirit will never thirst again. I do not thirst and I am satisfied. Because I am doing His will just as Jesus said, "I have food to eat that you know nothing about. My food is to do the will of Him who sent me" (John 4). I am still alive and well. I will go on serving God until I meet death or meet the Lord when He comes if I am still alive at that time. Truly time is near. I am ready, Lord for in death and in life, God is there. Immanuel.
