Finishing Line

Only this morning I could really sense the finishing line towards writing and publishing the second volume of a commentary on the Gospel of John 13-21. By the time I put in my bibliography it is exactly 200 pages, and at most I could add one more page together with the front cover it shall be 202 pages in length. I saw the finishing line as yesterday evening I received a reply from my printers about the cost of printing and sure enough the price has gone up considerably since a year ago.

I have no choice but to sell it bit higher price compared to all my other 6 books which I have been selling for RM40.00 a copy. Often times I give to my fellow pastors for free or sell them at a good discount.

I also passed a copy of my book to a proof-reader and I told her that I would pray for her so she could do a good job of reading my book and getting rid of all the mistakes and misspelling. I trust in the Lord by early May, I will have decide to send to my printers and hopefully by early June, early copies could be sent to me by courier with the rest of the shipment coming a month later. Normally, shipping by sea in the most affordable way takes a whole month, the quickest would be three weeks from KL to KK.

This would mean by mid-May I could proceed with my next project which I know not what, but Romans is tempting as I have a teach a course on Romans next June 2027. I do not know whether anything else will intervene in the meantime and that's why I am pressing on to complete this current book project lest if an appointment comes soon in the next few months (which I don't expect) I shall be ready.

Anyhow, it is likely I will utilise this gift of writing a while yet and thus far, every where I go there is a demand for my books and I joked with my friend a couple of times that the sale of my books often exceeds my love gift like my previous teaching of a Leadership Seminar in a nearby District. Surely, in times without fixed income, book sales are a bonus and it helps to make ends meet, by God's grace.
